Could you swap your afternoon coffee for 10 minutes of exercise? Science says YES! A study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that just 10 minutes of moderate exercise can promote better attention, memory, and learning capabilities… Which means if you can move your body for just 10 minutes, you might not need that afternoon coffee after all! It doesn’t have to be strenuous exercise, either… It could be as easy as: ✔️Inverted Yoga Poses. A quick forward bend, downward dog, or even laying down with your legs up on the wall can increase blood flow to your brain, which can boost mental clarity and brain function! ✔️Hand Grip Exercises. Use a hand gripper, stress ball, tennis ball, or even a rolled-up towel and start squeezing. Oddly enough, this sends oxygen to your brain and can trigger the release of a protein called "brain-derived neurotrophic factor" (BDNF), which helps your brain cells grow and stay healthy! ✔️Nasal Breathing. If you really can’t get up and move, this is a great option! Breathing through your nose increases oxygen uptake and improves circulation to the brain, leading to better cognitive performance. Will these get you massive results towards a total body transformation? Probably not… But they’re great to have in your back pocket on days when you need some extra energy and focus.
