With all the holiday parties and family gatherings it’s no wonder the average American gains 7.3 pounds from Halloween until New Year’s.

Not only that, most gyms are pretty much vacant in December as people are ‘too busy’ to exercise.

Lack of exercise = excessive food intake (simple carbohydrates) = recipe for disaster.

How many times have either you or somebody you know make grand fitness goals for the New Year only to fail miserably? What happened?

I’m willing to bet most people never even made it to February. This is a tragedy!

So what’s a person to do?

CHALLENGE YOURSELF!

Yes, you heard me right. Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. You must challenge yourself and get out of your comfort zone if you want to make change happen. I remember talking to a woman who was frustrated with her results at the gym. I asked her “when was the last time you challenged yourself?” She looked at me puzzled and responded “well… I walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes a day while I read.”

Really???

It all comes down to how bad do you really want those see-it-in-the-mirror results. For most people it’s not bad enough. It’s time you either change your fitness blueprint or get extremely focused and take massive action.

The good news is that there are 2 things you can do to massive move yourself forward and actually look forward to New Years and your new body.

1. Schedule an appointment with yourself 3x per week.
Pull out your calendar and physically schedule in 30 minutes with yourself three times per week. Treat it like an appointment with the doctor. The appointment can be at the gym, a park, the track or in your own backyard. If you want to get on the fast track then hire a coach who will give you a specific plan and hold you accountable. The bottom line is what get’s scheduled and measured get’s done.

2. Take on a nutrition/fitness challenge.
I’ve found that most people respond well to challenges. Why? It involves a group of people with a common goal who are sick and tired of their current situation. When you have a goal and clear objective you can be unstoppable. There are tons of nutrition/fitness challenges out there and you must find one that fits your needs.

If you are sick and tired of the excess body fat and lack of energy then join the Paleo Challenge at AXIS. It’s a complete Nutrition/Fitness/Sleep challenge that will dramatically transform your body and give you tons of lasting energy.
